Hey @EternalFlower ,
I'm sorry to hear about what happened. It sounds incredibly difficult. What do you think would be helpful at this time? Is there anything we can do to make it easier for you?

@EternalFlower he can’t relate to you and he knows it. He’s behaviour is reprehensible.
Trauma and abuse survivors are screaming for lived experience therapists who are neurodivergent.
Your therapist is an obsolete model of what therapists use to be.
He needs to retire asap.
Hope the door 🚪 doesn’t hit him on the way out.

hi @tyme i don't know what to do because i am being kicked out of case management so that I can focus on therapy with this guy and I doubt they'll care that i don't like him or feel safe after he screamed at me.
I hope they believe me.
I will tell them
I need to almost escape the country as I feel so empty and like there's nowehre to turn
hi @Glisten
I strongly agree with you on both points - re neurodivergence and lived experience
I believe therapists should also be vulnerable and imperfect and lean into it rather than try control us and lecture us. Why would any trauma survivor be okay with a MALE OLDER THAN THEM
screaming at them unprovoked for 28 minutes over the phone.
He called me twice throughout the day to insist i respond - and had apprantly also emailed me requesting all sorts of penance and apology from me
No no no no no no

my GP responded and told me I can only email, also for 2 reasons, altough slightly different parameters.
He was very clear I can only email him if
1) i want to
2) i feel like it.
we laughed and i guess it took me out of it for a bit

His apology was decent but still annoying lol
He said he regretted it, acknowledged he yelled, retracted a lot of what he said, but said he did attempt to modulate his voice and wasn't screaming the whole time
He also said he thought my email had been mischievous.
So what lol
I felt he didnt modulate his voice but rather maintained a snippy, angry and unreasonable attitude and had his voice raised and angry for most if not all of the 28 minutes
