Re: Support for L-B

@tyme

They are going to email me the interview questions an hour before the interview. So I will be able to prepare

Re: Support for L-B

That's amazing. Take a deep breath and shine @Oaktree !

Having the peer cert opens up so many opportunities at this time.

Re: Support for L-B

Can I email you about this @Oaktree ?

Re: Support for L-B

Absolutely @tyme

Re: Support for L-B

Hi @Oaktree @tyme , I hope you did well in your interview @Oaktree .

@tyme you asked about my projects...well I am part-time self employed. And things are moving well but slowly.

My anxiety treatment is graded exposure. It's tricky and sometimes terrifying and overwhelming but I want to overlearn it so it will be easier to manage.

Re: Support for L-B

Hope your interview was okay @Oaktree .

@L-B , I'm hearing you about graded exposure. I've certainly had experience of this. It takes a lot of courage to do this.

Sitting with you.

Interview went fine but I didn’t really get a read on how well I performed. They did ask me if I didn’t get the job if I would be interested in relief work. I said yes. They also asked to check my references so I guess that’s a good sign?

Thank you both for remembering and asking about it.
I am glad to hear that your self employment is progressing well @L-B

What’s new in your worlds?

Re: Support for L-B

Good to hear @Oaktree . Let's see how it all goes. Finger crossed. If the job's good for you, you'll get it. What I found with jobs is that it's not because you are not 'good' etc, but they often look at whether someone is a 'good fit' based on what they say. Some people may be over qualified for a certain position, or their ways of working doesn't fit the people currently working there. That's why I always say to myself that if I get a job, good, but it's not, it is because I'm not a good fit. Did they say when they will get back to you?

As for my days, it's been filled with KIDS. They are still on school holidays so I've been taking them to the beach, park, pool etc. I've also been minding other kids whose parents are working. So I had 6 kids today. It was good.

What'd you get up to @L-B ?

Re: Support for L-B

@tyme @L-B

They are still interviewing and said it ties in with a particular timeline that I can’t quite remember but it has to do with funding. They said I will hear from them in 2 weeks. It feels like ages to wait.

Oh fun, kids are wonderful and they grow up way too fast. Please do enjoy the time with them while they are young. It is so good of you to take on the task of babysitting service. Childcare or out of school care is just so expensive these days. I bet your nieces and nephews enjoy having their friends there too. I can just see you baking biscuits with them or making homemade pizza on homemade pizza dough. Fun times!!!

It has been exceptionally hot here the last couple of days. I am grateful for the air conditioning we put in, in 2024. I am also grateful for solar panels that run it.

Re: Support for L-B

Makes sense @Oaktree . Orgs that rely on funding makes it harder when it comes to wanting answers quickly. There is a lot of red tape I guess.

Keep looking. I remember I mentioned Jora.com in the past. They still send me Peer work jobs all the time. You will be a great peer worker. There's so much to learn in it and it's so rewarding.

As for the air con and solar panels, I totally agree with you! I have powerful solar panels because both the air con, electric car and pool system and heater run off it 24/7. So yes, VERY grateful!

Knowing your bills won't be very high is great.
