Re: Bipolar 11 I need help understanding
He seen his professor on Tuesday and although he isn’t swinging between highs and lows so much, his highs are lasting longer and are dangerous.
So he will be seeing him in 3 weeks for a re assessment and possible more meds for the adhd.
I guess I’m struggling to understand what feelings he feels and actions he does are controllable or not. I’m not sure how long it’s going to take to be stable and if I can bare living like this much longer.
It’s such a hell for him and for me at the moment

Re: Bipolar 11 I need help understanding
Sadly there are no easy answers as to how long things will take for your husband to be stable. Getting support for ourselves to be able to cope with what life throws at us is often the best thing we can do for ourselves. Carers Australia offer some free counselling sessions, there are mental health support services that have carer programs - Wellways, GROW are a couple of these - I can send you some links if you let me know what state or territory you are in.

Re: Bipolar 11 I need help understanding
NSW health lists 5 non government organisations on its website here:
http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/mentalhealth/Pages/family-mh-program.aspx
An example of what these services provide is:
individual support
https://www.onedoor.org.au/services/carer-services/nsw-family-carer-mental-health-program
education events in many places across town - see this list
https://www.onedoor.org.au/events/carer-education
I have had support from Wellways, a similar type organisation which was really helpful.
